Official Adventist Hymnal (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile app that provides access to lyrics from the Seventh‑day Adventist Hymnal (1985), streams available hymn audio, and offers an AI-powered study companion called Bible Chat.
1) Summary
We prioritize your privacy. We do not create user accounts and do not collect traditional personal information (like your name or email).
- Hymnal: Lyrics, favorites, and playlists are stored locally on your device.
- Audio: Standard internet logs (e.g., IP address) may be processed by our streaming provider solely to deliver content.
- Bible Chat (Pro): To verify your subscription and provide AI responses, we process a unique subscription identifier and your chat queries through secure third-party providers.
- No Tracking: We do not sell your data, track you across other apps, or use advertising identifiers.
2) Information we process
We do not collect personal data such as your name, email, or location.
On‑device data (stays on your device)
- Favorites and playlists.
- Appearance settings (e.g., dark mode, font size, theme).
- Bible Chat History: Your conversations are stored locally on your device and are not stored on our servers.
Pro Feature Data (Bible Chat)
- Subscription Verification: To provide access to Bible Chat, the App sends your App Store
originalTransactionId to our secure backend (hosted on Cloudflare). This ID is used solely to verify your subscription status with Apple and to enforce fair-usage rate limits.
- Chat Content: When you ask a question, your message and recent conversation history are sent to our AI inference provider (Fireworks AI) to generate a response. These messages are processed to provide the service and are not used to train AI models.
Network requests
- Audio: Requests go to a third‑party music infrastructure provider. Their servers receive standard network information (e.g., IP address) required to route content.
- AI Services: Requests to our Bible Chat backend include standard network metadata (IP address, device/OS version) required for security and service reliability.
3) How we use information
- Provide hymn lyrics and audio playback.
- Maintain your on‑device settings and favorites.
- Verify your Pro subscription status to grant access to Bible Chat.
- Generate AI-powered responses for your Bible and hymn-related questions.
4) Sharing
We do not sell or rent your data. We share information with service providers only as necessary to provide the App’s features:
- Cloudflare: Hosts our backend for subscription verification and rate limiting.
- Fireworks AI: Processes Bible Chat queries to generate responses.
- Apple: Handles all payment processing and subscription management.
5) Data retention
- On‑device: Local data (favorites, chat history) remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Subscription Cache: We may cache your subscription status on our secure backend for up to 24 hours to ensure fast access to Pro features.
6) Your choices
- Delete Chat History: You can clear your conversations within the Bible Chat settings.
- Manage Subscription: Subscriptions are managed entirely through your Apple ID settings.
- App Analytics: Any crash reporting or system analytics are governed by your global Apple settings.
7) Children’s privacy
The App is suitable for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children.
8) Security
We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption for all communication between the App, our backend, and AI providers.
9) International use
Your requests for audio or Bible Chat responses may be routed to servers in different countries (primarily the United States) depending on our service providers' infrastructure.
10) Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to how we handle data, we will update this page and the “Effective date.”
