Welcome to Larune Notes AI. Your privacy is a fundamental priority for us. This policy describes how we handle your data when you use our mobile application.
1. Data We Process
Larune Notes AI processes three main types of content:
Audio Data: Voice recordings made within the app or audio files you upload.
Document Data: PDF files you upload for text extraction.
Text Data: Transcripts generated from your audio and the AI-powered notes/summaries derived from them.
2. How We Process Your Data
On-Device Transcription
To ensure maximum privacy, all audio-to-text transcription is performed locally on your device using Whisper technology. Your raw audio files never leave your iPhone for the purpose of transcription.
Cloud AI Processing
To provide advanced features like summarization, title generation, and Q&A chat, the text transcriptions (not the audio) are securely processed using our cloud infrastructure.
Transcripts are sent to our secure Cloudflare Worker proxy.
Inference is performed by Fireworks AI to generate summaries and answer your questions.
This data is used solely to generate the requested output and is not used to train global AI models.
Our proxy does not store your transcripts, notes, or chat history. It records only the number of requests and the total volume of text processed, in order to enforce fair-use limits and prevent abuse.
3. iCloud Sync
Larune Notes AI keeps your library up to date across the devices signed in to your Apple ID. This is on by default and requires no separate account or sign-in.
What syncs
Your notes, transcripts, and AI-generated summaries.
Your folders and Q&A chat history.
Your app preferences, such as summary language, length, and template.
What does not sync
Your audio recordings are never synced. A recording stays on the device that created it. Opening a note on another device shows its transcript and notes, but the original audio file remains only on the device where it was recorded.
Where it is stored, and who can read it
Synced content is stored in your own private iCloud database, provided by Apple and tied to your Apple ID. It is not stored on our servers, and we cannot access it — Apple's private database is readable only by the account that owns it. Its use of storage counts toward your personal iCloud quota.
Your control
You can turn syncing off at any time in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Larune Notes AI.
Deleting a note on one device deletes it from your other devices as well.
Because your library is stored in iCloud, it is restored when you reinstall the app or set up a new device.
4. Data Storage and Retention
On Your Device: Your audio files and notes are stored in the app's local storage. You can manage and delete them at any time in the app's settings.
In Your iCloud: Your notes, folders, chat history, and preferences are stored in your private iCloud database as described in Section 3. This data persists if you delete the app, and is restored when you reinstall it while signed in to the same Apple ID. To remove it permanently, delete the notes from within the app, or remove the app's data in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
Your Recordings and iCloud Backup: Audio recordings are never uploaded to our servers and never sync between your devices through the app. If you have Apple's iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone, recordings stored by the app may be included in that device backup. This is Apple's standard device backup, which you control in iOS Settings.
On Our Servers: We do not store your audio, transcripts, or notes.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide the app's functionality:
Apple (App Store & StoreKit): For managing subscriptions and purchases. Apple handles your payment information directly.
Apple (iCloud & CloudKit): For storing and syncing your notes across your devices, in a private database tied to your Apple ID. This data is handled under Apple's privacy policy.
Cloudflare: For secure API routing and subscription verification.
Fireworks AI: To provide the large language models used for summarization and Q&A.
6. Children's Privacy
Larune Notes AI does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
